Three Round Structure
CHOICES seminars are structured around three rounds or mini-discussions, with each round progressively shifting the conversation from the abstract to the personal.

Our volunteer discussion facilitators encourage our young discussion leaders to speak about their own lives and experiences, but we also recognize that these topics can be difficult to speak about publicly or in front of peers.
We therefore offer a structure for our discussions that allows our young DLs to relate personal experiences and ask personal questions while preserving their anonymity.
1st Round - Definitions
--explore what the DLs already know about the topic and develop common-sense definitions of key terms

2nd Round - Case Studies
--discuss a story or "case study" that
describes a young person confronting issues related to the health topic
--this allows the DLs to talk in specific and even personal terms about the health topic but in reference to "someone else"

3rd Round - Anonymous Questions
--the DLs write down one or two questions they would like to ask about the health topic anonymously on a slip of paper. The slips of paper are then drawn randomly out of a hat and read by the discussion facilitator to the group
